    In the first two weeks of the current month, Alberta declared two draws. The first draw was held on June 1, 2023, under the Family connection and primary occupation in demand. The cut-off declared for the draw was a CRS score of 304 points. The second draw was announced on June 8, 2023, for the Priority sector – Agriculture occupation with a CRS score of 382 points.

    Highlights of the Draw

    • The latest draws were drawn numbers 16th and 17th for the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program – Express Entry Draw – 2023.
    • Draw number 16th was targeting the Family connection and primary occupation in demand. Whereas, the 17th number draw was targeting Agriculture occupations.
    • However, only those candidates who have been given priority and who scored at least CLB 7 in their French language test.
    • The Alberta nominations have been following certain parameters to apply for Alberta Express Entry Stream selection for 2023.
    • 50% of nominations will be allocated to those aspirants who are working or have decent work experience in the health care, construction, agriculture, hospitality, and tourism sectors. However, here the province will give priority to applicants who have a valid job offer from any Alberta-based employer.
    • 25% of nominations are targeted to those candidates who have an experience in in-demands occupations as well as close family connections in the province.
    • Whereas, the remaining 25% will be allocated to Accelerated Tech Pathway program qualifiers.

    • 12200 – Accounting technicians and bookkeepers
    • 13110 – Administrative assistants
    • 73300 – Transport truck drivers
    • 60020 – Retail and wholesale trade managers
    • 21222 – Information systems specialists
    • 65201 – Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers, and related support occupations
    • 21223 – Database analysts and data administrators

    Conclusion

    Alberta is one of the provinces that invite plenty of migrants with the lowest CRS points and allow them to apply for Canada PR. However, the criteria that the authorities have made which is quite precise. As a result, despite having a low CRS score not a high number of applicants get the nomination. The potentiality of getting nominations from Alberta would only increase if candidates have a valid job offer from the provincial employer or have a work experience in in-demand occupations and have a close family connection in the province.
