Australia Immigration Update – A Weekly Review
Canada has invited 250 Federal Skilled Trades (FST) candidates to apply for Permanent Residency on 6th August 2020 with the CRS score of 415. It is just the 7th draw in the history of Express Entry since the year 2015.
The FSTP is one of the programs to obtain the Permanent Residency of Canada, especially for those who are skilled workers and qualified in a skilled trade. The program is recruiting specifically skilled immigrants from the year 2013.
FSTP draw is among the rare draws but it has happened with a precise goal like IRCC nominates only those candidates who can support Canada’s labor market needs. It is the first FSTP draw of this year since 16th October 2019.
To qualify under the program the candidates need to have at least 2 years of work experience in the given below trade occupations.
The program targets specifically skilled holders as a result, not only the number of invitation rounds are few but also lessen the number nominations are there. In the year 2019 out of 85,300 number of invitations only 1000 ITAs went to FSTP candidates. On the other hand, it is also one of the reasons why the FSTP draws has lower CRS scores as compared to the candidates who are applying under the Express Entry through Federal Skilled Worker Program or Canadian Experience Class.
