    British Columbia province declared the first draw of the month. The latest draw invited a total of 245 candidates from the General Nomination and Targeted Occupations categories. The general category draw nominated 207 candidates. Whereas, 38 aspirants have been nominated from childcare and healthcare occupations.

    Highlights of the Latest Draw

    • This is the first draw of February month under the general and occupation-oriented categories.
    • Overall it is the fourth general draw (including tech occupations) and sixth under the targeted occupations.
    • However, specific occupations like childcare and healthcare draws only held six times. Whereas, the draws under the other priority occupations category were conducted four times in these six weeks.
    • One of the best parts that come to attention is the minimum score requirement which decreases and remains stable in both target occupations.
    • The general draws until January 17, 2023, were held with a minimum score of 105 points under the Skilled Worker, Skilled Worker – EEBC Option, International Graduate, International Graduate (includes EEBC option) categories. Moreover, the stream Entry Level and Semi-Skilled is the only exceptional stream that always remains the same till the new year begins.
    • However, from January 24, 2023, three points have been reduced in the cut-off of all the draws.
    • On the other side, in occupation-oriented targeted occupations, the cut-off remains steady for all the draws. That is 60 points.

    Conclusion

    British Columbia is one the most frequent provinces to invite immigrants who would like to Settle in Canada and international students who would like to pursue their higher Study in Canada. However, the province will nominate both category candidates only when they can fulfil the basic criteria of the province. Such as a valid job offer from any of the provincial employers (except the excluded occupations and industries) or studying from any designated learning institutes of Canada or fulfilling both conditions.
