    Alberta Launches New Accelerated Tech Pathway Program Especially for Tech Workers

    Nowadays, we are coming across the news like all the countries are declaring economic reforms to recover from the loss. As most of the countries economies go down due to the pandemic. In the countries like India, the government declare the packages for the different sectors and deprived people. On the other end, most of the Western countries are more or less dependent on foreign migrants. As a result, they start declaring the relaxation in the visa criteria for the immigrants. For instance, Australia Immigration has declared various changes in their immigration policy especially, for international students and offshore migrants. Apart from this, Canada Immigration has also made plenty of changes in their immigration clauses to attract more and more immigrants.

    In the hierarchy recently, one of the prominent provinces of Canada – Alberta, has declared a new fast-track immigration program, especially for tech-workers. An immigration minister of Alberta Mr Tyler Shandro announced the Accelerated Tech Pathway program for the tech-workers on 13th January. The government have already started accepting the applications.

    Highlights of Mr. Tyler Shandro’s Announcement

    • The tech professionals will be eligible for the program if they have a valid Express Entry profile. Additionally, they have also need to be eligible for the AINP (Alberta Immigration Nominee Program) criteria.
    • The job offer from any Alberta based Canadian Employer is another requirement to qualify for the program. If candidates have the job-offer letters of in-demand tech industry occupations, they can be permanent residents of Canada within six months or so.
    • Tech professionals not only get the priority in application procession but also can receive a letter of support from the Government of Alberta if candidates are required to apply for the work permit.
    • As per the Alberta Enterprise Corporation, there are nearly 3000(+) tech-oriented companies in Alberta. As per the Alberta Technology Deal Flow study, the technology sector of Alberta has grown 233% since the year 2012.

    However, the sector is still facing a huge employee shortage especially in technical, sales and other tech relevant fields.

    How to Apply for the Accelerated Tech Pathway Program?

    • First, the candidates must be qualified for the Albert Express Entry stream. The provincial nominee program has 3 steps.
      • A valid Express Entry profile – candidates must have a valid Express Entry profile under any of the three immigration programs: the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.

      • There are 23 tech-oriented occupations have been nominated by the Alberta government to apply for the stream. Candidates need to have a job offer or currently working for an Alberta-based company in these eligible occupations.

    Some Other Important Criteria

    • The express entry must show the intention to reside in Alberta province.
      • Candidates should be working full-time in Alberta or have a valid job offer for full-time from Alberta based employer (Job offer or Job must be full-time, that is a minimum of 30 hours per week)
      • The job offer must be in the same occupation as submitted in the express entry.
      • The primary occupation in your EE profile is the same as your current Alberta employment or job offer.
      • The express entry profile must be valid for at least 3 months or higher an express entry profile must have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) of 300 points.

     

    Conclusion

    If any candidates received an email of invitation from Alberta then their profile will go for further assessment. Based on completion, the application will go further for the provincial nomination. Whereas, if any misrepresentation or fraud is discovered then the candidates may face a ban for five years. After the nomination, Alberta immigration will give 30 days to submit the final application and once candidates accept the invitations they will add up to 600 CRS points in their express entry profiles.
