The Program Year 2022-23 Update for Tasmania Skilled Migration

Tasmania Skilled Migration has published its new requirement and process for the program year 2022 – 2023. As per the announcement, there is something for everyone. For instance, the new program has considered these listed below categories

• International Graduates
• Skilled Employees
• Business Operators
• Long-Term Residents and
• Overseas Candidates.

However, the Tasmanian immigration authorities are currently waiting for confirmation from the Australia Government. Once the state will get confirmation from the central Government Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program will open with the below-given requirements and processes.

Tasmania Skilled Migration Program’s Key Features

For Graduates

• There is no requirement or restrictions for a course or occupation and also no mandatory employment requirement.
• Permanent Residency of Australia pathway available for PhD students.

For Skilled Employees

• There is an occupation expanded list and employment eligible for permanent residency subclass 190 visa nomination.
• Moreover, there are also no occupational requirements for the subclass 491 nomination visa as well.
• As per the amendments, in this program year, the Tasmania state has also included part-time employment to meet the work experience criteria.
• Additionally, the skilled employment pathway has also included the subcontractors based on their related skills assessment.

For Business Operators

• Those businesses which commenced after 15 April 2022 have received an extension in qualifying business operation time of six to twelve months.
• The change has also insisted on the new income requirement that has been set at a minimum of 80% of TSMIT (i.e., $43 120) for the new personal business introduction

For Long-Term Resident

• This new nomination pathway will benefit those candidates who have lived in Tasmania for an extended period. The pathway also considers, how these candidates have established themselves in employment or business.
• There is a qualifying residency period fixed under this new program. For the subclass 190 visa nomination, candidates have to be in the state for at least three years.
• On the other side, for the subclass 491 visa nomination, there is a requirement of at least two years.
• Particularly for business operators to qualify under the subclass 190 nomination they have to be lived in Tasmania for at least two years and run their eligible business successfully for the two years at least.

For Overseas Candidates

• One of the best benefits the overseas candidates is that there will be no occupation restrictions from where the candidates have received a job offer letter.
• More Invitations To Apply are expected from the SkillSelect because Tasmanian businesses are needed skilled overseas candidates.
• As per the amendment, the new industry skills-needs profiles allow the potential candidates to tailor their SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI) to enhance the chances of the invitations.
