2. Be Careful About Your Word Count

As I have already mentioned above, your IELTS writing task is primarily divided into two sections namely task 1 and task 2.

Task 1 requires a minimum word count of 150 words and task 2 requires a minimum word count of 250 words.

If your word count drops the minimum specified limit, you are giving a chance to the examiner to cut down your marks.

Also, spending too much time on one task, and adding extra information may lead to the mismanagement of time. As a result, you may not be able to complete both tasks successfully.

Hence, folks, always be mindful of your word count while writing the exam.

A word count of 160 to 180 words for task 1 and 260 to 280 words for task 2 is an ideal range to impress the examiner and Get a Remarkable IELTS Writing Score.

3. Handle Your Time Sensibly

As I have already mentioned in the above point, task 1 requires a minimum word count of 150 words and task 2 requires 250 words.

So, it is crucial to determine how much time should be spent on each task.

Ideally, task 1 should get completed in a maximum time range of 20 minutes and the rest 40 minutes should be focused on task 2.

Also, make sure to complete the writing stuff associated with each task at least 5 minutes before the defined time.  This will allow you to have 5 minutes left to review and make editings to each writing task.

The practice is key to ensure better time management. Hence, practice a lot in this respect before entering the exam hall.

Think carefully about what the examiner is exactly asking before heading towards writing the answer.

Also, while writing the answer, make sure

  • Are not copying anything from the question
  • Reading all the instructions carefully before drafting the answer
  • Cross-checking everything to make sure all the necessary information is provided and nothing is left unresolved

5. Take a Good Care of Coherence and Cohesion

Undoubtedly, providing good and meaningful information is important to Obtain a Good Score in your IELTS Writing Exam.

However, using a logical and organized way to present the information is important too.

For example, the use of simple and short sentences is more preferable to long and lengthy sentences.

The use of long sentences may confuse the reader and hinder the way what you want to convey.

Hence, always try to provide simple, meaningful, and to the point information during the exam.

Beware of presenting the reader with unnecessary, unrelated, and out of box information.
