The list is based on suggestions from the National Skills Commission and consultants from Commonwealth departments.     Benefit for professions on Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL)

    The Processing of Australia Immigration applications from candidates belonging to occupations on the list will be prioritised. Although all other skilled occupation lists will stay in force, applicants whose professions are on the PMSOL list will have their visas processed more quickly. The visa classes involved are 

    • Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482)
    • Skilled Employer-Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494)
    • Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa (subclass 186)
    • Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) visa (subclass 187)

    The statement made by Alan Tudge, the acting Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs –

    “These occupations in the health care, construction and IT sectors will supercharge both our health and economic response.’’ 

    He further added

    “Visa holders, who have been sponsored by an Australia business in a PMSOL occupation can request an exemption from Australia’s travel restrictions, but will be subject to a strict 14 days quarantine on arrival at their own expense.”
