    Northern Lights College IELTS Requirements

    • 6.0 overall no band less than 6.0, DIPLOMA and Associate of Arts Degree Programs. Associate of Science
    • IELTS 6.5 not less than 6 with Reading 6.5
    • 6.0 overall no band less than 6.0, POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA Programs.

    Important Note:

    1) Showing documentation of an IELTS result with an overall score of 6.0 or higher with no band less than 6.0. (Students with a writing band of 6.0 or less are required to complete English 099 with a “B” grade or higher before enrolling in any English courses required for program completion; the necessity for completing this upgrade can extend the length of the program.)
    OR
    2) NLC may accept as equivalent a TOEFL iBT of 78, Canadian Academic English Assessment (CAEL) 60 overall band, Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment (CLBA) 8 in each section, Pearson Test of English (PTE) 57, Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) 76, Cambridge-Michigan Language Assessment (CaMLA) 68

    Note: – All International Students with Writing Bands of 6 or less, will have to study ENGL099 as an additional Subject and clear it with a “B” in first semester.
    Note: – Study Gap should not be more than 5 Years for PG Program and 3 years for UG program.
    Note: – Student’s above age of 30 are not eligible.

    Northern Lights College Duolingo English Test Requirements

    Not accepted anymore. We do not accept Duo lingo Scores anymore. It was started keeping in mind the
    lockdown. But now it won’t be acceptable.
    We are not accepting conditional applications. You can submit Digital locker verified documents if originals are missing. If a student has an online IELTS Score, then he/ she needs to submit a TRF Number along with that if he or doesn’t have the final TRF Sheet. It is mandatory to submit the front and back of all transcripts.

    $ 100 CAD (Non-Refundable) (Through Western Union Only)
    Student needs to pay Application fees within 10 days after receiving the Student ID from the College.

    It is MANDATORY to provide Student’s personal phone number and personal email ID on the first page of the application form. Please do not provide agent’s phone number or email ID for which student doesn’t have password. Please note NLC might call student any time.

    Northern Lights College Scholarship for Students

    1. First 6 students of 2 Year Cosmetology who will pay tuition fees will get a scholarship of CAD 500.
    2. First 3 students of 1 Year Advanced Certificate in Culinary Arts who will pay tuition fees will get a
      scholarship of CAD 500.

    This scholarship will be given to the students after they complete first semester in college.

    International Student Services

    • Northern Lights College provides both services to the students, and both services are chargeable. Please do contact us once the student receive visa and we will be happy to help with the services.
    • If you need Airport port pick up, please submit Airport pick up request form to inted@nlc.bc.ca. Please request the Airport pick up form at inted@nlc.bc.ca.
    • We provide free Airport pick up during business hours, Mon – Fri, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. If you arrive out of business hours there is a $50 fee. This fee does not provide transportation between Fort St John and Dawson Creek. Please note that the College is closed on weekends, holidays and December 25 – January 1.
    • If your campus is Dawson Creek but you are coming to the Fort St John Airport, please try to arrive at the FSJ airport before 10:30 a.m. so you can take the Greyhound to go to DC.
    • Greyhound bus leaves at 12:15 p.m. (Apr–Sep) and 1:15 p.m. (Oct-Mar) Bus fare is around $22 (included one suitcase. If you have more than 2 suitcases, it will be around $5 additional charge for each suitcase). Bus fare is subject to change.
