    Lethbridge CollegeApplication Guidelines

    • Complete an application through the Apply Alberta website.
    • Pay the $100 CAD application processing fee (non-refundable) via credit card to process your application.
    • An admission specialist will be in contact with you regarding the documentation that you are required to provide. Be prepared to submit your secondary and post-secondary transcripts, as well as proof of English language proficiency.
    • If you meet the admission requirements for your program of choice, you will receive an Offer of Admission (processing can take 2 – 3 weeks). You will sign the offer letter and return it with a tuition deposit of $1000 CAD. The tuition deposit is partially refundable if you are not approved for a study permit (tuition deposit refund deadline applies: 50% without visa denial letter; 70% with visa denial letter).
    • Once we receive your signed Offer of Admission and tuition deposit, Lethbridge College will issue an acceptance package which will contain a Letter of Acceptance to be used when applying for the Canadian study permit (processing can take 1 – 2 weeks)
    • You can then apply for your study permit by contacting the Canadian Embassy or High Consulate closest to you.

    Important Remarks

    • Offer Letter processing time 2-3 weeks; Letter of Acceptance additional 1-2 weeks
    • Documents must be clear without notary
    • Online application only (ApplyAlberta: https://www.applyalberta.ca/)
    • If accepted to the program, will need to sign offer letter and pay $1000 CAD tuition deposit (partially refundable) to confirm seat in the program.
    • College will send offer letter to student’s personal email initially; students will be given information on accessing their Lethbridge College email account (all future email correspondence will be sent there; students are responsible for checking this account regularly to avoid missing important deadlines and information).

    English Language Center

    • The Pathway to English and Academic Culture (PEAC) program allows you to learn English in a Languages Canada approved program while meeting most Lethbridge College post-secondary program entry language requirements.
    • Admission into PEAC may come with a conditional offer of acceptance to a certificate, diploma, or degree program.
    • The program is for students who do not meet the English language proficiency requirement of a specific program. It is also for students who are interested in learning or upgrading their English (academic program application is not required).
    • The program can be from 1 – 3 semesters (or longer); the length of time varies based on the student’s English language level and/or needs.

    Steps to Apply – Admission Process

    1) Choose a program by clicking here

    • Check the available intakes, seat availability, and application deadline

    2) Apply online through applyalberta.ca

    • Enter the applicant’s name as indicated on the applicant’s passport
    • Use LNU if the student does not have a last/surname/family name (LNU – Last Name Unknown)

    3) Submit Documents

    (via email to international.documents@lethbridgecollege.ca)

    Include

    • Consent for Disclosure form (REQUIRED – must be signed and dated by the student and an agent representative)
    • High School Mark Sheets or Examination Certificates
    • College/University transcripts (if completed)
    • Translations of any transcripts which are not in English
    • IELTS/TOEFL/PTE
    • Passport (not mandatory)

    Do not Include

    • Screenshot of Apply Alberta’s confirmation page
    • Resume or CV’s
    • Recommendation letters
    • Job offers of Work experience documents
    • Participation certificate
    • Non-credit or non-academic certificates
    • Financial Documents

    4) Wait for a decision

    • 1 – 3 weeks; depends on application volume (follow up after 3 weeks with student ID and DOB)

    5) Confirm an offer

    • Applicants must sign and submit their response to the offer of admission before the deadline indicated on the offer letter.
    • Pay the tuition deposit of $1000 through PayMyTuition (before the deadline).
    • Advance payment of the entire program tuition is not required, but the college will accept if paid.
    • Pay the deposit or a full tuition payment before the deadline indicated on the Offer of Admission letter; the college will then issue the Letter of Acceptance.

    6) Apply for a Canadian Study Permit through the Government of Canada

    Process After Application

    • After submission of the application, student will receive myhorizon log in details.
    • Student will receive login credential in his/her email id from Lethbridge College.
    • Student need to regularly check for the update from the college in myhorizone account.
    • Any communication regarding application will be in college portal only (Application status, Offer
      letter, Fee receipt)

    Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP)

    Students who graduate from a full-time Lethbridge College program (Degrees, Applied Degree, Diploma, and some Certificate) that is a minimum of 8 months long, may be eligible to apply for a PGWP.

    Note: Lethbridge College uses ACCUPLACER as its primary placement assessment. If the student does not meet the minimum academic requirements to qualify for the program of their choice, they may be required to complete all or part of the ACCUPLACER assessment.
