    New York Institute of Technology Application Guidelines

    Required Documents:

    1. Notarized documents
    2. Online application confirmation page
    3. Copy of bachelor degree transcript (all semesters)
    4. Copy of Proof of bachelor degree/degree certificate
    5. Copy of official IELTS (Academic) or TOEFL
    6. Copy of passport

    If Applicable

    1. Copy of master degree/proof of master degree
    2. Copy of master degree transcript
    3. Copy of official GRE or GMAT report
    4. Copy of Canadian Study Permit

    IMP NOTE:

    NYIT Admissions department will start reviewing your application when ALL of the above required documents have been received. Applicants are required to provide clear copies of documents in ONE PDF. The admission process usually takes minimum 3-4 weeks.

    Important Remarks

    1. 4-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (Pattern accepted 10+2+4) Like all Engineers, M.A, M.com, MBA & Ph.D. Students. (3-year degree may be eligible for MBA)
    2. GRE score may be required for some applicants at the discretion of School of Education.
    3. GMAT not Required (but may be submitted towards fulfilment of the M.B.A. admissions criteria).

    M.B.A. Scholarship:

    Applicants admitted to the M.B.A. Program at NYIT-Vancouver are considered for the Vancouver Graduate Scholar Award in the amount of $2,250 USD to CAD 2,700 per year. Applied towards the tuition in the amount of CAD 750 OR CAD 900 to each fall, spring and summer semesters. Students must meet the required criteria in order to qualify for the scholarship.

    Credit Transfers

    Up to six transfer credits from an accredited graduate program may be granted to students in this program for appropriate courses in which a minimum grade of B was earned.

    Manage Your NYIT Email

    This email address will be used for all official NYIT notifications.

    Use NYIT Blackboard

    • NYIT Blackboard is a virtual classroom that connects professors and classmates for online and blended courses.
    • Some professors will use Blackboard for class assignments, announcements, and more.

    How to Set Up Your Account

    1. Go to: my.nyit.edu and select “First-Time Users and Password Reset.”
    2. Enter your NYIT ID number and last name as they appear on your acceptance letter.
    3. Enter the security code exactly as it appears and submit.
    4. Provide answers to the security questions.
    5. Follow the instructions to set your secret questions and answers.
    6. Create your new password. Please read the password instructions carefully to create a secure password
      containing required characters.
    7. You have successfully created your NYITConnect account and email address. You may access it online at my.nyit.edu.

    Important Note: – Send us the login Credential after the application submit in NYIT.

    NYIT has partnered with Pay to Study to make your international payments easy, convenient, secure, and less expensive. Please visit Pay to Study to learn more and make your payments.

    Finance Required for Non SPP Visa Process.

    • Need to pay CAD $2610 as tuition deposit in advance for Unconditional Visa Letter, this deposit would be refunded if the student gets Visa Rejection.
    • GIC of $ 10280 CAD OR Loan letter should show 10 to 15 lacs in rupees
    • Min. of 8 lacs of liquid balance with bank in savings and original proof for the same.
    • Parents income should be of min. 3.5 lacs/Year
    • IT returns required for the last two years
    • If Agriculture then agriculture income and original documents for the same.

    NOTE: MBA HAS 6 INTAKES AND MS-INCS HAS 3 INTAKES PER YEAR. New students can be admitted six times a year. Each term consists of two 8-week cycles. New M.B.A. students can start in each cycle. Please note that international students are strongly encouraged to apply at least two months prior to their intended start date to accommodate the processing of their study permit application with Canadian immigration office.

    Refund / Withdrawal Policy

    • If NYIT owes you money from overpayment on a bill, you have the option of receiving direct deposit to an existing checking or a refund check, or a debit card.
    • For payments by personal check, bank check, or domestic wire transfer, refunds will be issued via paper check or direct deposit.
    • For payments by credit card, refunds will be issued directly to the credit card used. The credit can take anywhere from 21 business days to be applied to your credit card from the date the University processes it.
    • For payments made through FlyWire, TransferMate or international wire transfer, refunds will be distributed to the bank and account that issued the original payment.

    REQUESTING A REFUND, select your refund disbursement method and request a refund by following these steps.

    • Login to my.NYIT
    • Select the NYIT CONNECT: STUDENTS tile
    • Access the Finances section and select “Choose My Refund Method”
    • Then request a refund by selecting “Submit Refund Request”
      Note: If a credit balance is due to a personal check or ACH check, it will be subject to a 30-day hold unless proof of clearance has been provided.
