Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (NS PNP)

A classy and serene lifestyle is attainable to immigrants in the majority of Canada’s beautiful and attractive provinces. One of them is Nova Scotia, a province in the country’s Maritime area. The province has evolved to be a preferred option for those looking to immigrate to Canada because of the exclusive benefits it provides. Over 7,000 new immigrants are currently accepted each year in one of Canada’s smallest provinces, Nova Scotia.

Typically, there are three routes to immigrate to Nova Scotia. The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP), the Federal Express Entry System, and the Nova Scotia Nominee Program.

    Nova Scotia Nominee Program  (NSNP)

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program is the Provincial Nominee Program run by the province. Through the program, the province nominates those applicants for Canada PR who meet the demand in the province in terms of education and work experience. Obtaining a Nova Scotia Provincial Nomination Certificate is a fantastic approach to hasten the Canada PR process. The province offers several distinctive streams as part of the program to entice people with the abilities required to address labor shortages and boost the local economy. The program was started in 2003 with the intent of using immigration to serve the economic needs of the province and is proven successful to serve the purpose.

Following is a summary of the several program streams that encourage successful applicants to migrate to Nova Scotia and become citizens of Canada.

    Nova Scotia Experience

Those with previous work experience in Nova Scotia can get permanent residence in Canada through the Nova Scotia Experience stream. The experience must be a year long and have to be in one of the National Occupational Classification’s TEER categories 0, 1, or 3. The Nova Scotia Experience stream targets immigrants who have the capabilities to integrate into Nova Scotia’s workforce. The program works in line with the federal Express Entry system.

    Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities

Candidates who have experience in professions that are in exceptionally high demand in Nova Scotia can apply through the Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities stream. To be considered for the stream, candidates do not need to already have a job offer. Candidates must have a valid Express Entry profile because the stream is linked with it. To qualify for the stream, the candidates must be financially ready to support themselves and their families in Nova Scotia, be of legal status in their present place of residency and meet additional criteria.

Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities for Physicians

The stream is for trained medical professionals who have active Express Entry profiles. The Express Entry-aligned stream enables the nominated applicants to earn an additional 600 CRS points, increasing their likelihood of receiving an ITA for Canada PR. To be suitable for the stream, applicants must meet the specified criteria, such as having a job offer from the Nova Scotia Health Authority or IWK Health Centre, having adequate money to survive in Nova Scotia, and much more.

    Skilled Worker

The stream helps the province’s employers to hire talented overseas workers and fresh international students who possess the credentials that the province needs. To be entitled to use the stream, candidates must have been given a full-time, permanent job offer by a Nova Scotian company, have at least one year of relevant work experience, and meet other conditions. If they earn an offer of employment from a Nova Scotia company, the stream is a great approach for smart workers to file their Canada PR application and expedite their immigration to Canada.

    Occupations in Demand

Those with a job offer from a Nova Scotia company in a specialty that is in demand have the chance to immigrate to the province under this stream. Candidate must be between the ages of 21 and 55 and hold at least one year of experience in the field to be selected for the stream.  After getting a nomination under the stream, candidates can submit their application for permanent residence in Canada to the federal government.  Till the time a candidate’s Canada PR application gets approved,  which typically takes six months, he can move to the province on a temporary work permit to start working by requesting a Letter of Support from the NSOI. Under the stream, the following occupations are authorized:

    • Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates (NOC 3413)
