PTE Speaking Question Types

–  Scoring: Content, Fluency, and Pronunciation – No adding, skipping, or replacing words – Speak smoothly without pauses – Pronounce words clearly – Speak at a natural pace – Finish before the progress bar ends – One chance to record – Pause at commas and full stops

PTE Speaking Read Aloud

– 10-12 questions – Listen and repeat a sentence – No beep, focus on the screen – Score based on content, fluency, and pronunciation – Speak all words correctly – Speak smoothly and clearly – Don't write, memorize, repeat exactly, avoid pauses

PTE Repeat Sentence

– Speaking section (Part 1, 3rd item) – Moderate weightage (3-4 questions) – Describe an image (map, graph, chart, etc.) – 25 sec prep, 40 sec to speak (finish in 36-37 sec) – Use a template, include 8+ keywords – Speak fluently, naturally, and at a steady pace – Scoring: Content, Fluency, Pronunciation (5 points each)

PTE Describe Image

– PTE Speaking: Moderate, 1-2 questions – Skills: Listening & Speaking – Task: Listen, note keywords, retell in 40 sec – Scoring: Content, fluency, pronunciation (5 points each)

PTE Re-tell Lecture

– Last question in Part 1 – Low weightage – 5–6 questions – Tests listening and speaking – Give a one-word or short answer – Only correct answers are accepted – No penalty for wrong answers
